AND THE WINNER IS......

Drumroll please......

Our independent judge has spent the past few days reading the submissions over and over again. And he has finally made a decision.

You might be thinking "wow, a 'he'"? Yep! We wanted to be a little different. We wanted our competition to be fair, but to stick to the brief of our entrants to be creative. Writing skills were needed to be successful.

So we enlisted the expert assessment skills of a 29yr old male, married with two children. And he's a tough cookie! For obvious reasons, we'll keep his identity a secret, so we'll name him Bill*.

Bill* was extremely impressed by the four entries that were presented to him. But one stood out from the rest. It was creative, took the reader on a journey with the writer, and brought forth emotions in the reader.

That entry belongs to Olivia & Richard!

Congratulations to you both. We look forward to working with you on your dream wedding, and will be in touch soon.

To our runners-up, thank you for your wonderful entries. As a token of our appreciation, we would like to offer you 25% off our decor services should you wish us to still make your dream a reality.

Thank you to everyone involved in the competition, to our voters, people who promoted and shared our competition, our new likers, and our independent judge Bill*.

We look forward to the next time we can bring you another wonderful competition. Keep an eye out! ;-)

THE TOP THREE.......

After what seemed like a lifetime of tallying up the votes for our entrants for our little competition, we finally have the results. And they were a little surprising.

At this point I must reiterate that part of the entry conditions for votes to be counted was that any "like" must be accompanied with a "page like". There were a large number of votes that could not be counted because this condition was not met.

So the results are as follows:

Entry 1: Jaydee & Damien - 71 votes

Entry 2: Suzie & Tim - 49 votes

Entry 3: Jessica & Chris - 62 votes

Entry 4: Olivia & Richard - 56 votes

Entry 5: Aleesa & Dwayne - 2 votes

Entry 6: Toni-Leah & Daniel - 2 votes

As you can see, this puts Entry 1, Entry 3 & Entry 4 through to the final stage, but as we are feeling a little generous, and the top 4 came down to only a few votes, we have decided to put our top 4 entries through to the independent judge for assessment.

Congratulations and good luck to all our entrants.

We will announce the WINNER very soon! :-)

A LATE ENTRY - Toni-Leah & Daniel

People say there is no such thing as love at first sight, I can prove THEM wrong! From the moment I first met my partner, who is now my wonderful fiancé, it was love at first sight.

My life has been made complete since Daniel became A PART of it.

Daniel is from Launceston and I am from Hobart.  WE recently celebrated our Engagement together in Launceston with our loved ones.

We plan to relocate to Launceston in the next year or two and purchase our first home together to have a family in. We have not even thought of getting married anywhere else but in Launceston AS it is such a pretty place with so many wonderful places to have a wedding.

Our dream wedding is to be able to spend it with our loved ones, nothing too fancy and to have the best night ever. You only get married once and you need to make it the most memorable day you have ever had.

To us a wedding is not about who can have the most expensive wedding, it's about marrying the man or WOMAN of your dreams and sharing it with your loved ones. It's about me taking his surname as he stole my heart, it's about me feeling like a princess for a day and about everyone being A PART of our day.

We would love to be able to get married sooner rather than later but as with everyone, money is tight, especially when we relocate to Launceston as I will need to find another job as transferring is not possible.

We would love to be able to win this package as it would make our dream COME TRUE SO MUCH SOONER xx

ENTRY FIVE - ALEESA & DWAYNE

Dwayne and I first met in 2008, however we have known of each other for many years. My brother Kaden and Dwayne's brother Jamie have been friends since primary school.
One day my brother Kaden went to visit Dwayne at his work and Dwayne asked Kaden if he would give his business card to me so I could contact him. I contacted Dwayne and we arranged to go out on a date to the movies, that was our real first encounter.
We saw each other everyday after that and our relationship just grew and grew.   Our true moment of falling in love would be when our son was born. It made us a real family and we are extremely excited about our new baby boy edition soon to arrive.
We focus on what we want as a family and what make us happy.  Our dream wedding is modern but keeping it classic, a day to truly remember.

ENTRY FOUR - OLIVIA & RICHARD

When I close my eyes, memories return..

“Christmas is a joyous time of year, I love everyone here, and I want to add to everyone’s joy”, and out of nowhere there is a ring, and Richard is on his knee.  “Olivia, will you please marry me?”  Ten years of life and love, making a home, culminated at this moment.

My eyes open, it is the day after our engagement party. Richard is in a hospital bed.  The doctors are telling us that they have found ‘masses’ in his abdomen.  When I close my eyes, the dreams aren’t there.  The priority is life.  Just life.

What gets you through?  Love.  Remembering what has kept you together. And continue doing it. Sunday breakfasts, sand aliens at the beach, games of mini golf, dancing in the kitchen..  We never wanted a grand existence.

Today we are winning - we can dream, of the day we are husband and wife.  I close my eyes…

And see lace, soft pastels.  Candles in jars, fairy lights, copies of the great love stories, vintage.  I see Richard.  I see our family and dearest friends, and nearby, a candle on a pillar in honour of a cherished sister and grandparents who are watching over us and can only be with us in spirit.

We would dearly love to open our eyes and find it is reality.

ENTRY THREE - JESSICA & CHRIS

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of my wedding, with the big beautiful dress, the wonderful gathering of friends and the promise of life to your soul mate and that’s just what we are planning.

Chris and I have been through a lot in the last 8 years, having to overcome numerous medical and financial issues, loss of loved ones and moving interstate for better job and financial prospects to enable us to lead a wonderful life. We are currently working hard towards our first house, our wedding and are also trying for a family. We find it hard sometimes being away from everything and everyone you know, especially with trying to plan a wedding in a different state, but waking up beside your best friend everyday makes all these things seem so much easier.

Always being a bright and bubbly person with a flair for colourful attire, I found it too hard to choose a wedding scheme, so we decided to go multi coloured.
Just like a rainbows ,beauty comes after the rain, we are optimistic that our rainbow wedding will bring beauty and light to the rest of our lives.

ENTRY TWO - SUZIE & TIM

Once upon a time lived a girl called Suzie in grade nine, fed up of school and wanting to get out in the big wide world. One day there was a new boy who arrived at school ........... And school seemed brighter.

It was almost the end of the year so we didn't have much time to get to know each other. It was summer holidays before we knew and we wouldn't see each other for weeks.

As school returned we hit it off like fireworks, spending every day together. The last year of school went so fast, with school footy trips, picnics and balls, we shared all these memories together. We both got jobs and started working straight away, but still kept our relationship together with lots of happy memories. Three years later, on the day before Christmas, Tim asked me to marry him on the beach. Of course I said yes. We had already planned a holiday to Europe so the wedding got set into the future. This year we bought our first house together. We are so happy of what we have achieved all on our own and are as happy as can be. We have FINALLY set a date for next year.

Although we are still young, we plan to pay for our own wedding, so this would help us so much as this story continues to make more happy ever afters.
